Noone can sing like Mario. His diction is impeccable and his effortless hitting of the highest notes always gives me the deepest joy. This is one of my favourite movies. "Che gelida manina" is the best performance of the aria EVER! I have searched but any present tenor doesn't even come close to equalling it. Bravo, Divo!💜

I’ve seen Mario sing this in the great Caruso 1951 n 7 years later in costume OMG magnificient no opera singer today could even come close to Mario Cuerras Domingo n Pavarotti all were in awe of his voice. Will never be another like it. I’ve heard Caruso sing this also n no one can touch him either

He looked in great shape there. He did for most of 1957. He was pretty heavy when he arrived in Italy in May but 6 weeks later he looked fit and healthy again. I find it remarkable how quickly his appearance could change... he could be enormous and six weeks later normal and then another few weeks later enormous again.... Its got to have an effect... Seems to me there may well have been some congenital heart weakness in Mario's family somewhere baring in mind Marc and Damon's premature passings... So Mario's issues with food, cigarettes and alcohol cannot have helped....

I remember the first time I saw this on tv n as soon as Purdum opened his mouth I was like whoa that’s Mario Lanza such a shame the director blew it. Criticize Mario’s acting but never the voice thank goodness all the songs were prerecorded the other commenter was right how much better the movie would have been with Mario n made more money for those who saw the Great Caruso Ann n Mario were good together

Mario singing makes me feel love coming from his heart.

In her last years my best friend and my mum played this every morning. She passed away at 96 . She was fit and did everything. Her mind and memory sharp, still driving her car and cooking for us when we visited. I couldn’t have asked for a better mother.

I had this, mum’s favourite Mario Lanza song played at her funeral. I was so happy to have done that for her. She was 96 years old and the person I loved most in the world.

I can’t bear to see another man impersonating Mario Lanza singing. It’s a sacrilege.

Se nota que, tanto en el aspecto fisonómico, como en el aspecto vocal, ambos son notoriamente diferentes, aunque la técnica de canto sea la misma, y de hecho, es una GRAN técnica. Espero que se aclare esta situación, así todos podremos, algún día, dormir tranquilos, sabiendo que conocimos la verdad absoluta en este otro gran misterio de la vida, uno más que se da en este amado, aunque, altamente desagradable, planeta mafioso.
